’Twas the night before Winterlude, when in downtown Ottawa… Leading hotel chefs were stirring and sipping fine wine!
The second annual Dine Wine Wintertime will take place the evening of January 29 at Ottawa’s City Hall in support of the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa.
For two hours, guests will be served a variety of unique and delectable culinary creations prepared by chefs from leading hotels in the Ottawa Gatineau region. On top of that, a variety of premium wines from Canada and around the world will be available for attendees to savour.
Participating cooks have created a diverse menu of entrées and desserts for the event. Executive Chef Louis Simard from the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, will be serving Soy and Maple Cured Salmon Torched on Cedar with House Mustard Braised Savoy Cabbage. Also, a smooth and fluffy Nutella Cheese Cake Mousse—sure to excite your sweet tooth—will be prepared by Executive Chef Pierre Latour from the Double Tree by the Hilton Gatineau Ottawa.
Dine Wine Wintertime will also feature a silent auction with great gifts and getaways. The event is presented by Scotiabank and brought to you by the members of the Ottawa Gatineau Hotel Association. Proceeds made from this auction combined with money raised by other means will help support the vital work of Ottawa’s Youth Services Bureau.
The inaugural event last year raised over $55,000 and helped to feed over 96,000 youth at the Youth Services Bureau. Other programs and services supported include an emergency shelter, 24-hour regional crisis line, addictions counselling, job find programs and assistance in situations of family conflict and dysfunction.
Tickets can still be purchased for this event; however they are expected to sell out fast! Buy yours now on capitalcitytickets.ca.
