Does Apex Legends Support Cross-Platform Play?

Apex Legends reached a staggering number of 70 million players worldwide as of October last year, making it one of the most successful games of all time in any genre. Apex Legends also won the "best multiplayer title" award at The Game Awards 2019. But one of the things that everyone has been eagerly waiting for to see in the game was the ability to cross-play in the game.

Although, it took a while for EA to introduce cross-play to Apex Legends, but it's finally here. And now with the release of Apex Legends on the Nintendo Switch platform, players can play the game on all of the major platforms out there except for mobile, of course. But how do we actually play with other platforms using the cross-play feature? Let’s find out:

Apex Legends Cross-Play

Apex Cross-Play lets you play with your friends over a variety of platforms, if you are playing on PC and your friends are playing on Console, you will be able to play with each other just fine. But in order to do that you will have to add your friends using the friends menu while in the Lobby, just add them and start the game.

The cross-play option can be toggled on/off in the settings menu, if you don’t want to play with players from different platforms you can simply go to the settings and turn off the cross-play feature. But if you are playing on PC, you won’t have this option. So, you will have to bear playing with players from other platforms which shouldn’t be problem at all for a PC player.

Other thing worth mentioning is with cross-play feature turned off you won’t be able to play with your friends on different platforms and alternatively, when playing the game in solo mode with cross-play turned on, you won’t be matched up with players from other platforms as well.

Does Cross-Play Progress count in Apex Legends?

If you are playing on PC as your main platform and jumping over to Console, you progress won’t be counted and you will have to actually start over again with your Apex Legends account but the good thing is if you are deciding to change the platform, you can get help from these professional to boost your AL account from start.
