Catch Team Canada in the Pacific Four Series Before it’s Too Late
TD Place is no stranger to fantastic sporting events. The former home of the Ottawa Senators has hosted the Brier, the Grey Cup, and the UFC. It is a one-stop shop for spectator sports, so it came as no surprise it was chosen as a venue for the Pacific Four Rugby Series. A round-robin tournament with current world champions, New Zealand, USA, Australia and Canada.
Saturday, July 8th, saw two games as Australia played the USA and Canada took on the current champions. The USA had a rough start to the tournament losing to Canada with a score of 50-17. Australia had a rougher outing losing 50-0 to New Zealand.
Australia learned from their mistakes and was able to defeat the USA 58-17. The match wasn’t close as Australia dissected their opponents with ease.
As a novice to rugby, I was able to learn some of the lingo and observe the technique, and when New Zealand took to the field, as expected, they were just too much for their hosts. New Zealand defeated Canada 52-21.
Over 10,000 people attended the games last Saturday, setting a record.
Tonight, July 14th, the series wraps up with two games: New Zealand takes on the USA, and Canada closes the series against Australia.
