Welcoming Back Outerbridge Magic Show “Mysteries of the Keyhole House” Just in Time for the New Year!
Back by popular demand, master illusionists Ted and Marion Outerbridge are returning to the stage with their hit magic show, “Mysteries of the Keyhole House,” at the Ottawa Little Theatre from January 2-5. Suitable for all ages, tickets to see the Outerbridges perform their magical feats would be a great family outing to wrap up the holiday season and ring in the new year.
Praised by CBC Radio as the “Masters of Illusion,” Ted and Marion Outerbridge looked to their very own home in Smith Falls, ON to inspire the creation of “Mysteries of the Keyhole House.” Upon finishing up their headlining run at Hollywood’s Magic Castle, the Outerbridges fell under the spell of an enchanting Victorian manor in the Ottawa Valley—the Keyhole House, named for its keyhole-shaped doorway.
Only a few days after moving in, Ted and Marion began to suspect that their new home was the site of a peculiar, puzzling, and long-forgotten mystery. Through a series of ghostly visitations, curious discoveries, and oddities too convenient to be coincidence, the Outerbridges realized that the Keyhole House was the playground for a whole cast of mischievous former residents of the supernatural kind. Among these haunting houseguests are Agnes Lamb, the first owner of the house, and John Briggs, a WWI veteran who enjoyed the secluded manor after serving Canada. Ted even discovered a series of skeleton keys that unlocked hidden rooms within the house, uncovering a treasure trove of forgotten objects that unearthed the house’s century-long history.
Unravelling the history of the Keyhole House was an experience too magical for Ted and Marion to keep to themselves. Together, they created a show based on their discoveries, and thus, “Mysteries of the Keyhole House” came to be.
The show brims with magic and illusions that will dazzle and delight audience members. Viewers will not believe their eyes as mysteries unfold on stage. “Mysteries of the Keyhole House” is not only an impressive theatrical showcase of illusions, but also seeks to pay respectful homage to the residents of the house—Ted and Marion were even able to get a military headstone for former resident John Briggs’ grave after discovering his photo behind the mantle. Indeed, this show uses the art of magic to celebrate the history that happened in the heritage house.
