Back in town after a road trip to Trois-Riviere, the Ottawa Titans take on the Empire State Greys in three games this weekend. For the first game on Friday night, the team will be sporting pink jerseys in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. The jersey will be auctioned off post-game, with the proceeds going to Breast Cancer Action Ottawa.

Canadian comedian Mike Bullard is well known as the host of the late-night talk shows Open Mike with Mike Bullard on CTV and Beyond the Mic with Mike Bullard on CFRB. The double Gemini Award winner is in town for three nights of laughs.

Ottawa Premiere: Très Belle Journée (Very Nice Day)

Very Nice Day is the first Quebec feature film by director Patrice Laliberté. Shot entirely on a cell phone, the film tells the story of Jérémie, a bike courier who delivers anonymous packages and leads a marginal, solitary existence in downtown Montreal. When a new neighbour moves in, his life is turned upside-down, and the fallout is drastic. Very Nice Day is a Telefilm Talent Fund project and comes from Couronne Nord, the production house behind THE DECLINE — the first Quebec film financed by Netflix.

Volleyball Nations League at TD Place

This week, Ottawa is hosting eight of the world’s top men’s volleyball teams (Argentina, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Serbia) who are competing in the Volleyball Nations League at TD Place Arena. This is the first week of competition of the annual volleyball event includes 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams competing in pools of eight teams worldwide. There are two more weeks of round-robin tournaments before the men’s finals, July 20-24, 2022, in Bologna, Italy. The women wrap up their tournament in Ankara, Turkiye.

A familiar face in the Ottawa jazz scene, guitarist Alex Moxon is performing with fellow Alex Moxon Quartet musicians: Steve Boudreau – piano, John Geggie – bass, Michel Delage – drums. The concert at the NAC's Fourth Stage celebrates the in-person launch of the quartet's debut album, which has already received international radio airplay and stellar reviews.

The Ottawa Jazz Festival, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany Ottawa, and Steinway Piano Gallery Ottawa present Frank Muschalle. Head to Allsaints for an incredible evening of swinging blues, boogie-woogie, rolling basses, tricking treble, and pulsating rhythms. Muschalle is one of the most well-known boogie-woogie artists in Europe. Tickets are available on a first-come basis!

The New Art Festival 2022
