Drawing on collective memory and immigration themes, this exhibition showcases artwork by 28 Canadian-Hungarian artists. Through their works and in various mediums, the artists explore their diverse responses and reactions to the Cold War, the Diefenbunker site, and their connections to our current times. Entrance to the exhibit is in included in the price of general admission to the Diefenbunker

Victoria Day Corgi Parade for the Queen

When: May 22, 2022
Where: Meet at the Bear statue on Sparks Street
What time: The walk starts at 2:15 pm
Admission: Free (Free parking at World Exchange and Ottawa City Hall)

Head to Sparks Street to celebrate Victoria Day with a parade of the Queen's favourite breed of dogs, the Corgi. Be sure to catch this grand march of cuteness that will be videotaped and sent to Buckingham Palace. Canadian ​Tulip Festival

What time: Saturday 10 am – 5 pm, Sunday 10 am- 4 pm
Admission: Free

Catch the final weekend of the 70th edition of the Canadian Tulip Festival. Originally a celebration of the historical friendship between Canada and the Netherlands, the festival has become a multicultural celebration of springtime and the beauty of the tulip flower. Head to Commissioners Park, near Dow’s Lake, to admire the over one million tulips and take in the live entertainment, food trucks, outdoor movie screenings, fireworks, and more.

This weekend, Ottawa’s Jesse Reynolds is your MC as funny man Jon Steinberg headlines at Yuk Yuks. Steinberg has been flooring audiences across North America for over a decade with his unique and twisted view of the world. He has appeared at major festivals, including the Halifax and Winnipeg Comedy Festival and the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival.

Canadian makers of handcraft Body butter and Scrubs, Zero Waste Shampoos, and everything soap, Soapladz is hosting a craft market. Head to the Nepean Sportsplex on Saturday to check out 167 vendors across multiple niches.

Head to Lansdowne for an evening of activities to celebrate 2022 Korea Week. The Korean Cultural Centre Ottawa hosts a K-music performance followed by an outdoor screening of the film Moving On by YOON, Dan-bi. Korean food vendors will be selling K-treats, including Korean-style corn dogs, hot dogs, and fried chicken.

The Ottawa Children's Festival features The Libravian, which premiered at Baboró Festival 2021 in Galway, Ireland. The 40-minute show explores themes of courage and identity, celebrating brilliant books and diverse stories through big-hearted physical comedy. Audiences are invited on a journey through literature led by Lynn, a lovable ‘libravian’. Lynn chats with audiences and lip-syncs to original audiobook soundscapes that immerse the audiences in the world of each book, all written by Irish authors around the theme of bravery.
