Consider this training for the zombie apocalypse. Bingemans amusement park in Kitchener is launching a haunted overnight camping experience on June 6 and 7 at the amusement park’s camp grounds, called 13 Hours in Hell.
Bingemans’ Screampark haunted festival has drawn lovers of horror to the region before, but this experience is unlike the other Screampark attractions. Participants can set up camp in the dark, secluded woods and try to make it through 13 hours of horror. During their stay, they must compete in different challenges while maintaining their camp and fighting off hordes of the lurking undead.
“After 10 years of expanding the Screampark haunted festival in Waterloo Region, and as we enter our third year of the wildly successful Running Dead zombie obstacle race, we’re excited to present our newest chapter in horror productions,” said Mark Bingeman, President of Bingemans.
Throughout the 175-acre camp grounds, Bingemans has created safe zones for those who aren’t able to make it through the night of terrors. If you make your way to one of these, you’ll join Screampark’s chicken out count, which boasts a list of over 1200 people. If you have a heart condition, are easily frightened or under the age of 12, Bingemans recommends that you sit this one out.
“Our scream team has gone over the top in creating this unique overnight experience with several horrifying events planned to take place throughout the campout. This interactive event is like nothing that you’ve ever experienced before but the entire concept has been designed with fun in mind,” added Bingeman.
Registration for 13 Hours in Hell is now open. Both dinner and breakfast are included for all participants, as well as the choice to stay in a tent, a tented bunkhouse, or the special “coffin” accommodation.
Love the idea of camping with zombies but can’t make it out to 13 Hours in Hell? Bingemans will open the Screampark gates on September 26, and host the third Running Dead race on September 28.
