If you have never been to Amsterdam and plan on visiting the city, you may be wondering what it has to offer outside of the legal weed and the Red-Light District. Yes, Amsterdam has both of those things, but that’s not all there is to see in this incredible city by the water. One of the first things you should do upon arrival is visit one of the best Coffeshop Amsterdam and cafes. Amsterdam has some of the best coffee shops in the world, and with good reason – these places are like museums in which you can indulge in your favorite drink and learn about Dutch culture at the same time!
1) Strong Espresso
Strong Espresso is one of the best coffee shops in Amsterdam. It provides an intimate space that makes you want to stay and chat with friends. Strong Espresso has outlets so you can charge your phone and enjoy your drink. The atmosphere is welcoming and there are plenty of delicious drinks on the menu from coffees, teas, and hot chocolate. If you're looking for a place that feels like home away from home, Strong Espresso is perfect for you!
2) Personalized Cappuccinos
Coffee shops are the lifeblood of the Dutch capital. Whether you're on a quest for your morning espresso, or stopping in for an afternoon pick-me-up, there's always something interesting happening at the bar.
You'll find an affordable and delicious cup of coffee. Don't be fooled by the high prices at some cafes; it's still possible to find affordable cups of coffee if you know where to look! My favorite spot is De Blauwe Kater, which offers great lattes and cappuccinos without breaking the bank. The atmosphere will make you feel like you're walking through history.
3) Exposed Brick Walls
For many people, the smell of coffee is the smell of home. The comforting aroma wafts into your nose and fills your heart with joy. It's not just the smell that makes a good coffee shop great though; there are so many other things that make you feel at home when you walk through their doors. Exposed brick walls, watercolor paintings on black paper, and comfortable armchairs all contribute to creating an environment that invites you in.
Start by ordering one of their freshly made coffees. There is nothing better than tasting the delicious flavors for yourself. If you don't drink coffee then try some tea! You can enjoy it any way you want – hot or cold! My personal favorite thing about visiting a good coffee shop is trying new drinks. A lot of places offer different options such as Lavender Tea, Mint Lemonade, and even Eggnog Latte!
4) Comfortable Tables/Seating Areas
Having comfortable seating is important for the coffee shop experience. The chairs should not be too uncomfortable, but also not too soft. Depending on the environment of the coffee shop, some may opt for benches rather than chairs. When it comes to tables, they need to be big enough so that people can fit their laptop or other belongings while they are seated. Lastly, there needs to be an adequate amount of power outlets and WiFi access points around all of the tables and seating areas so that visitors do not have a difficult time getting their work done.
5) Free Wifi + Plenty of Power Outlets
What's better than an Americano or espresso? Free wifi and plenty of power outlets. You'll have access to all the modern amenities while enjoying a quality beverage. Some coffee shops even offer comfy couches and tables, as well as board games for leisurely days. The best thing about coffee shops is that they're also great places to work remotely or meet with friends for some social time.
