A Snack that’s Good for You!

A simple strawberry and Greek yogurt parfait can be very refreshing during the summer months. Some studies show that Greek yogurt has twice as much protein as regular yogurt. Fresh locally grown strawberries are very popular at this time of year.  They are high in vitamin C and antioxidants. Some say they help prevent wrinkles. Drizzle some honey on top, as it is a great natural carbohydrate that provides fast and immediate energy to the body. That’s worth the investment for me. More importantly, this is a snack that even fussy children will enjoy.

This simple snack can be prepared in minutes.

 

 

 

 

Here is what you will need:

1 cup of sweet, ripe strawberries cut in pieces or slices

½ cup of Greek yogurt

1 tbs of honey

1 tsp of maple sugar – for topping.

Place first layer of strawberries in a glass bowl or cup, add ¼ cup of yogurt on top, and repeat steps twice.

Drizzle honey along the top surface of your parfait.

Sprinkle one tsp of maple sugar on top.

Refresh and enjoy!
