This weekend Atletico returns to TD Place to take on a team they have had success against this season, Halifax Wanderers. I recently had the opportunity to speak with Carl Haworth, the captain of Atlético Ottawa.
The first seven games of the 2023 Canadian Premier League may not have gone the way Atlético supporters would have wanted; with 1 win, 2 draws, and 4 losses, the record doesn’t tell the whole story. Take, for instance, last week's loss to Forge FC, the team currently in first place. The game was hard fought, and Forge FC scored in injury time. Yes, it’s a loss but a heartbreaking one that came after a very solid effort from Atlético.
Carl gives an honest assessment of the season so far, talks about why he loves the nation’s capital so much, and what fans can expect going forward.
