Atlético Ottawa has been on fire lately. The team has won four of their last five games. They will try to make it five out of six when they play York United FC Saturday at TD Place.
One of the aspects that makes Atlético so impressive is the depth of skilled players the team has. Coach Carlos Gonzales, who was just named the Canadian Premier League’s Manager of the Month, has so much talent to choose from.
One such person is Nathan Ingham. This goalkeeper is exceptionally talented, and at times, it may be easier to break into Fort Knox than it is to get a ball past him. Last week, against Cavalry FC, his incredible saves helped keep Atletico in the game and their opponents off the scoresheet.
I recently had the chance to sit down with Nathan to discuss his career, Atlético’s season, and will his moves in net qualify him for a position with Cirque du Soleil.
Atlético’s next home game is Saturday, August 5, and it’s La Fiesta Night, a Celebration of Latino Culture.
