The Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Cultural Centre Canada (KCC) actively promote Korean culture in Canada. The KCC regularly presents exhibitions at its gallery and event space in downtown Ottawa. The special exhibition First Encounter: Colourful Korea by Gisan, created in collaboration with the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Korea-Canada diplomatic relations, is currently on display.
KCC staff said, “In celebration of the anniversary of the 60th year of the diplomatic relationship between Korea and Canada, we hope to provide more opportunities for Canadians to experience and enjoy various Korean cultural events.”
In the lead-up to the celebration of Seollal (Lunar New Year in Korea), the KCC is hosting various cultural events. Seollal is Korea's most celebrated national holiday, along with ‘Chuseok,’ Korean Thanksgiving. This year Seollal is on Sunday, January 22, 2023. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about Korea while enjoying fun in a relaxing environment.
