Divine Spirit Center’s Global Multicultural Charity Show will be a Night to Remember

This month, the Divine Spirit Center will be hosting a night of celebration to promote unity between Ottawa’s many cultural groups, offering a jam-packed program of cross-cultural experiences that the whole family is bound to enjoy. The Divine Spirit Center’s multicultural charity show will happen at Kailesh Mitel Theatre at Carleton University (1125 Colonel by Drive) from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, December 14th. Parking is $6.

The Divine Spirit Centre is an organization founded by Divine Priya Bakshi. She is organizing the multicultural charity show and hopes that it will allow guests to ring in the new year right: “It’s a perfect time of year,” Bakshi told CTV News. “To end the year with a bang, it just came to my mind…why don’t we do something multicultural to support unity and promote goodness?” 

At 5 o’clock, the multicultural charity show will kick off with a chance to network with some of Ottawa’s best content creators, artists  and local inspirational leaders. Featuring a journey around the world through dance and music, guests can rest assured that they will leave this event knowing that anyone can make a difference, no matter their background. She is proving to her son that a single mother when she puts her mind into something that can change the world.

At six o’clock, guests at the global multicultural charity show will be treated to a dazzling performance entitled “A Journey Around the World.” This show will feature musicians playing instruments from all parts of the globe such as a cultural dance performance from the Upasana School of Dance, International Violinist Ralista, Kavita Thomas, Dhwani and more amazing groups. Guests will get to experience the richness of our world’s cultures without leaving their seats. The show organizer has developed a unique concept of a “food passport” which allows guest to enjoy the show, try different restaurants sponsors food and enjoy an after party at skylounge.

Profit from ticket sales and donations will go to eight valuable charities that the Divine Spirit Center supports, including Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada, Celiac Disease Foundation, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, Fibromyalgia Association of Canada, and the Ottawa Food Bank and the Ottawa Cancer Foundation. In addition, the show is raising funds for a woman and friend of the organization who needs a kidney transplant. 

Buying a ticket to the show or making a donation to the Divine Spirit Center will make a difference in the lives of people who are facing difficult circumstances this holiday season. Every ticket purchase and donation will go towards helping the Divine Spirit Center  to continue their work.

“The whole purpose of this beautiful charity is to support the community and to promote goodness,” Bakshi told CTV. “That’s the best part.”

With a packed schedule of networking opportunities, food from cultural kitchens, and a vivid set of performances, the Divine Spirit Centre’s multicultural charity show is sure to be a night to remember. Taste and see the world’s beautiful diversity, all for a good cause.
