Geometric Crystalline, a new experiential sound and light art installation found its home at ‘The Underpass’ in Downtown Rideau for the duration of Winterlude. The launch party was filled with fire performances by PoiSin, a fire pit, swag, chill music, and the Winterlude Ice Hogs. It was an event for the whole family.
Geometric Crystalline was created by married Ottawa artists Dems & Doll. A trio of geometric crystals gives an unframed and abstract presence that engages the viewer through communication with sound and light as these forms glow and change colour to instrumental chill music. Commissioned by the Downtown Rideau B.I.A. as part of its public art program in partnership with the City of Ottawa, this art is sure to brighten Rideau street as the temperature plummets.
