Exploring Beauty at the National Women’s Show

You cannot help but feel an overwhelming sense of curiosity and a burst of adrenaline rush through your veins when you walk into a room filled with over 250 exhibitors and thousands of excited women looking to discover the next best thing.

The aisles are crowded, the discounted goods are flying off the shelves, food samples are providing energy and pushy women are grabbing just about anything handed too them. The 21st National Women’s Show in Ottawa is nothing short of a spectacle, where women truly rule the shopping scene.

The Beauty and Wellness section displayed a wide variety of booths including Marcelle, FrezyDerm and a huge cosmetic super sale.

Marcelle, a 100 per cent hypoallergenic and fragrance-free cosmetic line recognized by the Canadian Dermatology Association, was promoting a new line of BB, CC and DD foundation makeup.

FrezyDerm featured its new anti-aging skincare line, available in Shoppers Drug Mart stores across Canada next month. The “botox in a bottle” was a popular item amongst all the women, selling for only $5 each.

Dean McDermott, reality TV star and host of Chopped Canada, was a guest speaker on the Centre Stage. He talked about his new book The Gourmet Dad, shared some tips on how to cook for fussy kids and divulged some insider stories about his experiences working as a host on the popular food show. Despite rumours and recent tabloids, Dean assured the audience all was well with his family and that he hopes to take his acting career to the next level.

Whether planning a vacation or looking for beauty, health and wellness tips, the National Women’s Show offers an eclectic mix of brands and business waiting to be discovered.
