It’s everything you need on a Friday night after a long week: catchy, danceable and totally infectious music! Montreal MC Boogat’s newest album release, Neo-Reconquista, is enough reason to celebrate on its own.
He’s been recognized for constantly evolving his music. Boogat’s unique mixed Latin-urban-electro-pop sound will instantly put your mind into weekend-mode.
Boogat’s music is now spreading more than ever, having been featured in popular movies and TV shows, like Homeland and the Forger. Boogat is drawing attention around the world for his style and firey tunes.
Don’t be lead astray by Boogat’s uptempo sound; his songs are fused with powerful emotionally-rich lyrics, tackling themes from love to cultural protectionism. Neo-Reconquista’s first single, Londres, featuring the 2015 World Music Album of the Year JUNO nominee Pierre Kwenders, Boogat explores human and environmental disappearances and homogenization, parading the importance of protecting our cultures in a time when we are surrounded by technology.
In Boogat’s second single, Me Muero Por Ti, directed by Mexican native Mariano Franco, he connects the audience to deep human emotions in a track combining Spanish reggae with modern pop.
“It’s when one’s vulnerability is revealed to the other, when we put ourselves completely at the other’s mercy,” explains Boogat.
You’re just a tap away from starting off your weekend early with Neo-Reconquista!
You can catch Boogat live in Ottawa on May 22 at the National Arts Centre. See here for more details and summer concert dates.
