Ottawa and Toronto creatives are ready to Fight Fire with Fire (FFWF) at a Hip-hop fundraiser for Australia's endangered wildlife, on Saturday February 8th!
Ottawa's hip-hop scene continues to grow and make moves that matter. More and more, the full community effect can be seen as we look around at the blooming artists taking initiative. This is especially true with local hip-hop artist Mischa who decided to put together a hip-hop-meets-visual-arts fundraiser for the endangered wildlife in Australia.
When she heard just how tragic the wildfires were and the impact they are having on the land in Australia, she knew she had to take a stand. The wildfires have been blazing since September 2019, killing as many as 1.25 billion animals, 26 people, destroying over 2,000 homes, and scorching 4.9 million hectares of land. This is where Fighting Fire with Fire, comes into play.
Overflow Brewery has graciously opened their doors to hold the event on Saturday February 8, 2020 with the support of their in-house sound and lighting technicians, Geoff McNeely and Michael Thompson.
It will be a night filled with live hip-hop, dance performances by MOOV Ottawa, live visual arts courtesy of Artwork by Emilie, as well as a collaboration from Bangin' Balloons, Falldowng, and last but not least, a silent auction with contributions from wonderful Ottawa local brands.
The event's lineup is filled with Hip-hop and R&B performances from some of the city's top artists including, Capé, Chris Keez, Dip Black, Dominique Gorley, Dustin Wareham, Hevve, Marty Party, Mischa, Queennyy, Timal Garnier and Vante Poems. The night will be hosted by Dynamic aka Ya Favourite Lightskin and the music for the night is by MusicbyJayel.
