Film Reviewer Keith Whittier Talks TIFF24 with Festival CEO Cameron Bailey
The 2024 instalment of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is a week away. Once again, Ottawa Life Magazine will have full coverage of the 11-day festival.
In keeping with tradition, I had the chance to speak once again with festival CEO Cameron Bailey, who joined TIFF in 1990 as a seasonal programmer. Bailey is well-decorated and respected in the film world.
Not only does TIFF serve as a crucial barometer for the upcoming awards season, but it is instrumental in advancing the careers of filmmakers like Christopher Nolan, Alfonso Cuaron, and Yorgos Lanthimos.
Bailey has spent over three decades with TIFF and continues to show no signs of slowing down, as evidenced by this year’s festival lineup.
Tune into the interview, where we discuss this year’s films, what people attending the festival can expect and how he winds down after the whirlwind frenzy of this monumental annual event.
