Four Ottawa beaches to visit before the end of summer
Eat, beach, sleep repeat! Summer is flying by, so grab your sunscreen, pack the cooler, load the car and head to the beach this weekend. Here are four beaches we recommended visiting before the end of summer:
Britannia Beach – 2805 Carling Avenue
Located in the west end of Ottawa, Britannia Beach offers a wide variety of amenities for a relaxing day on the water. Great for swimming and picnics, Britannia Beach and Park includes play structures, fields, restrooms, free parking and a canteen.
Mooney’s Bay Park and Beach – 2960 Riverside Drive
A popular destination for swimmers, rowers, and families, Mooney’s Bay Park and Beach offers BBQ pits in the park, lifeguards, a couple of restaurants and restrooms. Stand up paddle boarding is also offered at the beach.
Westboro Beach – Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway
Enjoy a hot summer day at Westboro Beach, located on Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway. The beach includes free parking, a canteen and patio, as well as lifeguards.
Petrie Island Beach – 795 Trim Rd, Orléans
Petrie Island Beach offers a fantastic view of the Ottawa River, the beach is great for late night strolls, picnics with the family and a friendly game of volleyball. Bring the whole family along, as the children enjoy an afternoon at the various play structures in the park.
