Harvest: A Feast of Fall Returns With an Evening That Will Delight Foodies While Supporting Vulnerable Youth

Since the late 50s, the fall harvest has been celebrated annually with Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October; however, for numerous youths in Ottawa, this occasion doesn’t present a cause for celebration.

Whether it be gangs, problems with the law or behavioural and emotional challenges, YouTurn Youth Support Services plays a vital role in helping young people from 12- to 24 years and their families in the national capital region, giving them a path and the support to achieve success.

Youturn relies on donations to provide its unique, client-centred service. It takes a village to raise a child and the resources of a community to support youth in need as they transition into productive adults.

Harvest: A Feast of Fall, in support of Youturn Youth Support Services, represents the convergence of autumn, harvest, and community philanthropy. It’s a one-night, all-star Farm to Table-inspired food extravaganza where 100 percent of the proceeds are donated to charity.

The Wednesday, September 18th event is a paradise for food enthusiasts who will have a unique opportunity to meet chefs, get to know their cuisine, and discover local distillers, brewers and winemakers.

Each participating chef will craft a special small plate that is an homage to the bounty of the fall season. These dishes are not just a delight for the palate; they are presented as small works of art, which is appropriate given that the event takes place at the beautiful Ottawa Art Gallery.

The chefs taking part in Harvest: A Feast of Fall 2024 are:

Tracy Metcalfe-Coe – Chef at large
