Help Fight Crohns and Colitis at ‘Get Sidified 2024’ With Ottawa’s Scent King

Ottawa’s King of Scent, Sid Cratzburg, is known for his fabulous glasses and even better selection of perfumes and colognes. Cratzburg has always been passionate about fundraising, hosting events for organizations like the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society. However, his life changed dramatically sixteen years ago following a near-fatal bout with colitis, which eventually stabilized after several months in the hospital.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) refers to a group of chronic conditions that primarily include Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, both of which cause inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. These lifelong diseases disrupt the body’s ability to properly digest food, absorb nutrients, and eliminate waste, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, severe diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and weight loss. While individuals can experience periods of remission, there is currently no cure, with causes linked to genetics, the environment, and the microbiome.

Cratzburg has made it his mission to raise as much money as possible for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation because, as he says, “I had to raise money for that foundation,” and that is exactly what he will do on Friday, October 24 at Get Sidified 2024 Friday Night Fever.

With Cratzburg’s flair for the stylish, you can expect the evening at Salon San Marco on Preston Street to be a very fashionable affair, with one hundred percent of the event’s proceeds will go directly to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, the foundation dedicated to funding research to help find a cure for these chronic digestive illnesses, which impact over 300,000 Canadians.

The evening will offer cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, various food stations, and a cash bar. However, the highlight of the night is the Friday Fashion Show Fever, showcasing the latest menswear by Ottawa’s Vernini Classico. For women, Perth’s Fall River Fashion will unveil the newest creations by Canadian designer Joseph Ribkoff. Afterwards, dessert will be served, followed by a disco dance party from 10:00 p.m. to midnight.

All attendees will receive a specially curated ‘scentillious’ gift from Cratzburg himself, ensuring that no matter how good you smell when they arrive, you’ll leave smelling even better!

For a gala of this calibre, tickets are reasonably priced at $125. Cratzburg explains, “For many people, these events are unaffordable, and one of my missions was to create a gala where you dress to impress, have a fantastic night out, and still keep it affordable.” Those who purchase four tickets or more will be invited to an exclusive VIP Champagne reception.

Throughout the evening, there will also be a silent auction with a variety of items available for bidding, such as spa packages and a sculpture of Iris Apfel by Maria Saraceno.

Style, entertainment, and philanthropy converge at Get Sidified 2024 Friday Night Fever, an event that promises a memorable experience while supporting a worthy cause. All proceeds go to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, ensuring your attendance makes a difference.
