Her-Spective: speaker series celebrating women in media
The world moves fast: keeping pace with it, and often a step ahead of it, is hard work. Have you ever wanted to hear from the women who consistently stay this step ahead to analyze, report on and find meaning in the whirlwind of the world?
Her-Spective is a virtual, fireside chat-style speaker series celebrating leading women in Canadian media. Listen in to hear from five of Canada’s leading female journalists about what it's like to be in Canada's media in 2021, life during the pandemic, and balancing personal and career ambitions in one of the world’s fastest-moving industries.
Invest Ottawa and Syntax Strategic launched the series as part of their celebration for International Women’s Week (March 1-12). The week of events aims to inspire, equip, and empower women professionally, across all sectors and from all walks of life The Her-spective series focuses in on women in media sharing a variety of perspectives on their lives, their work, and their world.
The series kicks off on Wednesday, March 3rd with Tanya Talaga, an Obibwe author and truth-teller. It continues on Thursday, March 4th with Adrienne Arsenault, co-host of the CBC’s The National. On Monday, March 8th, join Farah Nasser, award-winning journalist and anchor at Toronto’s Global News. Finally, Tuesday completes the series with Susan Delacourt and Julie Van Dusen. Delacourt is a current columnist for the Toronto Star and author, and Dusen is a veteran reporter for CBC News. There is one interview guest, on Friday March 5th, who is yet to be announced.
