Kind Village Launches Game-Changing Giving Platform

Kind Village announces the launch of give.kindvillage.com, a game-changing online platform that will help build sustainable, connected and kinder local communities in Canada and around the world, taking place today on Giving Tuesday.

“Launching the platform on Giving Tuesday is significant because at Kind Village, we think every Tuesday can, and should, be a giving Tuesday,” said Kind Village Chief Impact Officer Tanya Woods. “Everyone has something they can give to benefit others. Our team has now made that easier and possible in a new way.”

On the new giving platform — the first of its kind — individuals and companies can easily donate their time, talents or things in-kind directly to charities and community organizations working to meet local needs. Users not only benefit from finding and connecting with like-minded organizations quickly, they can also manage and track their activities and share their giving stories with the whole community. The platform also recommends giving opportunities aligned with the user’s interests and favourite causes.

“This platform was built by a small group of committed young professionals who wanted to apply their expertise and skills to a project that reflected their core values and commitment to their communities and causes,” said Woods.

“When we were growing up, giving was often limited to volunteerism and monetary donations. Opportunities to give in-kind in a more meaningful way were downplayed. Today, we are proud to show our community what is possible when the in-kind support of exceptional professionals and community members is harnessed toward a common goal. Our team and our supporters couldn’t be prouder of what’s come from many late nights and weekends around a kitchen table.”

The Kind Village team has been impressed by the number of incredible organizations over the last couple of years that have jumped at the opportunity to partner and create local impact at scale with them. Simple Security is the newest organization to establish a partnership with Kind Village.

“Our team knows that technology has the ability to enable, educate and empower individuals,” said Woods. “The products and services that Simple Security is offering to qualifying charities and nonprofits is designed to achieve this outcome.”

Simple Security’s mission is to make the cyber-world safer for small and medium organizations through educating business leaders and end users.

“If you know the threats and how to protect yourself, you’re less likely to be a victim,” said founder Mike Knapp. “We’re partnering with Kind Village to make a greater impact. Their platform to facilitate giving makes it simple for us to reach a broader nonprofit audience who we feel should be equally equipped to protect their organizations and communities. Plus, Kind Village is a group of awesome, passionate aligned people who we want to work with. It doesn’t get better than that!”
