Learning to Live Well With the Ottawa Health and Wellness Expo
It was an impressive turn out for this year’s edition of The Ottawa Health & Wellness Expo. Hundreds of people poured into the Shenkman Arts Centre, with their “free swag” bags hanging from their arms. Seeing the interest and enthusiasm from all those who attended, it is evident what a juggernaut the health and fitness industry has become.
The Ottawa Health & Wellness Expo is the brainchild of Dr. Nathalie Beauchamp, Owner of Santé Chiropractic and Wellness Centre. Dr. Beauchamp was initially inspired to create the Expo after she found she was always fielding the same health related questions from her patients. Dr. Beauchamp observed that her patients were motivated to make lifestyle changes but were overwhelmed by the abundance of information and health products available on the market.
Now in its eleventh year, Ottawa Health & Wellness Expo just keeps gaining momentum and attendance numbers keep rising. This year’s event featured 127 health and wellness vendors, all falling under the different categories of “Be Fit, Eat Right, Think Well and Go Green.” There was an abundance of fitness and personal training companies, such as Curves, Moksha Yoga, and 180 Fitness, all offering information, deals and draw prizes. As for eating right, the vendors included Natural Food Pantry, Kardish Health Food Centre, Pete’s Gluten Free, Pampered Chef, Eating Well Ottawa and more. There were fewer vendors falling under the “Think Well and Go Green” categories, but still some very interesting booths worth checking out, such as ABCommunications Speech Therapy Clinic, Emerging Minds and Junk that Funk – Waste Removal.
In addition to the aisles of vendors, the Expo also featured a packed schedule of live demonstrations and health and wellness talks, all which ran 30 minutes long and featured everything from essential oils to CrossFit. This year’s two keynote speakers had the crowd buzzing with excitement. First up, was Dr. Daniel Pompa, the co-founder of True Cellular Detox. Dr. Pompa has made a name for himself with his extensive research on cellular healing. He was followed by Jimmy Moore, the best-selling author of ‘Keto Clarity’. Moore burst onto the health and wellness scene back in 2004, after a 180-pound weight loss enabled him to come off prescription drugs for high cholesterol, high blood pressure and respiratory problems.
There’s no doubt The Ottawa Health & Wellness Expo has found its audience. The single day event gives visitors an opportunity to spend one-on-one time asking questions and learning from leading natural healthcare professionals. So, mark this event on your calendar for next year if you’re looking to make changes in your diet and fitness routine!
