Luxury Byward Boutique Hotel Opens with a Bang

Ottawa is now home to the first Canadian luxury boutique hotel by Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market marked its historic grand opening with a spirited evening of festivities, food, and drinks in an exciting preview of what will be offered at this dazzling new venue. While celebrating Andaz, the evening emphasized the chain’s commitment to immersing guests in local culture. Samples of the soaps, alcohol, soft drinks, chocolates, meals, and artwork, all from some of Ottawa’s most recognized brands, showcased the goodies that will be available to future guests. Some of these treats included local favourites: award winning Hummingbird Chocolate, Purple Urchin Soap, Harvey & Vern’s, Walter Craft Caesar Mix, and Beau’s All Natural.

Last night’s party-goers had the opportunity to explore this contemporary 200-room hotel. Chef Stephen La Salle, formerly of The Albion Rooms, wowed with samples of his New Canadian cuisine as attendees discovered the rooftop bar, the lounge, an outdoor terrace, a private dining room, and the new restaurant, feast + revel. DJs pumped out danceable beats, photo booths flashed, and live tweets were displayed on large flat-screens. As guests mingled with local celebrities, they were treated to breathtaking nighttime views of the ByWard Market and Downtown Ottawa.

If this bash was a taste of what to expect from Andaz Ottawa, we are definitely looking forward to seeing future events in collaboration with local artists, musicians, and other cultural influences.

Congratulations and welcome to the ‘hood!
