There were smiles all around today as Mizrahi Developments President Sam Mizrahi and Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson cut the ribbon to signal the beginning construction at 1451 Wellington, The Residences at Island Park Drive. The spectacularly designed building is sure to become a capital landmark when completed.
Sam Mizrahi thanked Mayor Jim Watson and the city council and said that, "working with the city planning committee and listening to the many voices in the city improved the outcome of the project and helped us to get here today." Mizrahi also thanked the Wellington West and Westboro communities for embracing the Mizrahi building. "Buildings transform neighbourhoods and make people happy and this can have a domino effect. We are proud to work with the city and our neighbours in this wonderful community. This is the first of what we hope will be many projects in Ottawa."
Mayor Jim Watson congratulated Mizrahi Developments and the officials at the city who worked on the project. "This building is at a landmark location in one of Ottawa's historic neighbourhoods and we are pleased that Mizrahi Developments chose Ottawa to build this spectacular property. Watson noted that 70 per cent of the available units have already been pre-sold which spoke to both the popularity of the neighbourhood and the development itself.
