If you already visited Andaz Hotel in the Byward Market, you will know what all the buzz is about. Beyond their trendy hotel rooms you now have an opportunity to ring in the New Year on their rooftop bar, Copper Spirits and Sights, which boasts stunning views of the evening’s fireworks. Tickets run at $85, $60 for hotel guests, and will grant you a wide variety of canapés, charcuterie, cheese and sweets, valet parking, killer views, a DJ and of course, sparkling at midnight. Doors open at 7:30pm to accommodate the special Canada 150 kick-off fireworks at 8:17pm.
Ottawa New Year’s Eve Charity Ball, Ottawa Conference Centre, 200 Coventry Road
If you are looking to bust out the tuxedo and ball gown this NYE, then there is no better opportunity than at the 2nd annual Ottawa New Year’s Eve Charity Ball. This swanky affair is once again organized by Destiny’s Way in support of children with autism and special needs. Tickets start at $149 each and the price is worth it. You are not only supporting a worthy cause, but will enjoy a 4 course meal, live music, silent and live auctions, a charity casino, complimentary parking, bubbly at midnight as well as entry in draws and some spending money. Doors open at 6pm.
For the 9th year in a row, Starfish Events is throwing one of the biggest New Year’s Eve bashes in the city. Following up on last year’s theme of California Dreamin’, you can expect to be partying to island beats and treats all night long. Tickets are $65 each and will get you one free drink, Caribbean-style hors d’oeuvres, a chance to win a Carribean cruise, photobooth access and permission to dance all night long to DJ Ray Ray and DJ MACE. Get your tickets now, since this party is often sold out day-of! Doors open at 8pm.
Beckta’s New Year’s Eve, Beckta Food and Wine, 150 Elgin
If you are looking for amazing food and wine with a short walk from the festivities on Parliament Hill, Beckta Food and Wine is your perfect spot. There will be an early seating three-course prix fixe at $79 a person (wine pairings $45 per person) for those hoping the catch the first set of fireworks. For the late seating, guests will enjoy a 5 course blind tasting menu at $125 per person (wine pairings $90 per person.) And even if you don’t feel like making your way to the Hill at midnight, you will be in great company.
Timeless NYE, Infinity Conference Centre, 2901 Gibford Drive
Celebrate the New Year in Ottawa’s hottest new event space, the Infinity Conference Centre. This 25+ event is a black tie bash that promises a 3-course gourmet dinner, live music and DJs, a champagne station, late night bites and 1500 of Ottawa’s swankiest. Tickets start at $65 for the party (starting at 9:30pm) with dinner starting at 7:30pm at $75 a seat. If you are feeling especially glamorous, bottle service ranges from $700 – $3000.
Barrymore’s New Year’s Eve, Barrymore’s Music Hall, Elgin Street
Looking for a classic NYE club night? Make your way to Barrymore’s Music Hall for at least 5 decades of music (60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today’s top 40); catered food, NYE decorations, and, of course, a NYE count down. At only $20 for general admission, it is one of the best deals in town! Of course, if you want to enjoy bottle service or to skip the line, you will need to pony up a bit more cash. Doors open at 9pm, but unless you have a VIP ticket, expect a line up.
