Donovan Bailey is a sports legend. From his childhood in Jamaica to the basketball courts of Oakville, Ontario, Bailey aspired to excellence. His road to success was not without risk, as he left a thriving business career to join the Canadian national track team. From his first run with the national team, Bailey realized it was a system settling for mediocrity. As Bailey led Canada to Olympic glory in the 100-metre and 4×100 relay, many praised his refusal to give in to the desires of poor team and bureaucratic leadership. His determination was inspired by his idol, Muhammad Ali, who acted like a champion even if it meant calling out racism and national moral complacency.
Bailey later established himself as a an elite brand in sports and business when he became a millionaire by the age of twenty-one. His athletic and business success led him to become an entrepreneur and philanthropist. Undisputed is not just an athletic success story, but a Champions’ tale of a refusal to settle for second best.
