OLM Pet of the Week- Meet George

It’s time for this week’s Pet of the Week, where we feature adoptable animals in Ottawa, and this week we’re excited to introduce you to George! This sweet boy is a 1.5-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix who is looking for a forever home with the help of Freedom Dog Rescue.

George is a very affectionate pup who loves nothing more than to hang out with his people. He loves going on long walks and exploring all the smells of the outside world. On rainy days, this guy will chill with you and is happy to watch TV with you! George loves to snuggle and nobody loves getting hugs more than him! He isn’t overly interested in toys, but he does like to shred any teddy bears he can get his paws on.

George would do well in a home where people are home more often than not, or are willing to work on his separation anxiety with him. He is crate trained, though any potential adopters will need to make sure they have a very sturdy crate as he is a talented escape artist. He can be destructive when left alone, so his ideal family would be able to continue to work with him on his crate manners. George is fantastic around kids and other dogs, so long as they aren’t unfixed males, and would make a great family dog. He would, however, need to be in a home without small animals such as rabbits or cats and he has demonstrated a prey drive towards rabbits.

Freedom Dog Rescue is an Ottawa-based not-for-profit organization founded in 2015.
