There’s no news, rice is a very versatile ingredient and, also, really inexpensive. It is present in many cuisines all over the world, no matter how different the countries' cultures are. And this says a lot.
There are numerous varieties of rice that can pair very well with different dishes. If you want to make, for example, an easy coconut rice recipe, you may use Jasmine rice. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a tasty fried rice recipe, you should consider using Basmati rice.
What are their differences?
As it is well-known, rice is a very rich source of carbohydrates, a healthy staple that can be combined with fiber, protein or dairy products.
However, depending on the type of rice we choose, we can find different characteristics.
- Jasmine rice, for instance, has a unique aroma and a really soft, fluffy texture.
- Brown rice, on the other hand, is really low in calories and high in fiber.
- Basmati rice is characterized for its nutty flavor and it is also more aromatic than typical white rice.
So, as it can be noticed, rice can have different flavors, textures, aromas and nutrients.
Which one is the chosen one today?
Today’s pick is Jasmine rice. With its sweet and enticing aroma, this soft rice variety is ideal to enhance any recipe flavor. What’s more, each serving of Jasmine rice contains only 160 calories. Quite healthy!
If you haven’t tried this rice variety yet, I bet that when you do, you are going to fall in love with it.
