Ottawa Embassy Hotel and Suites is spruced up for the holidays!

ABOVE: Embassy Hotel and Suites is rockin’ the festive vibes!

The holidays have taken on a very different look over the past three years. Family gatherings have been replaced with video calls, and public health guidelines have taken a very prominent seat at the Christmas dinner table.

And although some health chatter remains, thoughts of get-togethers and time with loved ones have returned. For work, play or family fun, locals and visitors to the city are looking forward to an ever-more festive holiday season.

Located steps from Elgin Street and the Rideau Canal, the newly redesigned Embassy Hotel and Suites is the ideal location to bring these festive vibes to life — whether it be a holiday staycation, office party, quiet dinner or just a place to unwind in the heart of downtown.

“Having revamped and redesigned our property, we feel it’s the perfect setting for the holidays — with spacious suites, wonderful amenities, and dining onsite at Cooper’s Creative Kitchen,” says Colin Morrison, General Manager at Embassy Hotel and Suites. “We understand these past few years have been challenging, and we hope to provide a little getaway right here in Ottawa.”

Following its renovation in 2018, the 11-storey hotel rebuilt its 140 guest rooms and suites with an approachable elegance, creating an environment, which is contemporary yet comfortable for families and guests of all ages.

The renovation project also included sprucing up the hotel’s event and meeting spaces, as well as Cooper’s Creative Kitchen, all of which provide a wonderful setting for holiday gatherings. Accommodating up to 45 guests, the Embassy event experience includes special rates on accommodations, as well as a festive menu, created by Cooper’s award-winning chef, Jason Duffy.

“The holidays are all about coming together with loved ones, creating memories,” says Duffy. “Our culinary team has created a signature menu, complete with many seasonal favourites — with a little modern twist.”

And although Ottawa is not quite known for its four-season patios, Cooper’s provides a cozy — and heated — outdoor space for a distinctively Canadian experience. Indoors or out, guests can enjoy a menu that Duffy describes as “classically playful”, reinvented every season.

For guests who prefer to enjoy the comfort of their suite, Embassy launched a new curated cocktail program in September with Ottawa-based Bar from Afar, offering guests a selection of cocktail kits to top up their stay. Each customized kit includes four signature cocktails, recyclable drinkware, mix and garnish. Spirits are sourced locally from North of Seven Distillery, where every step of the distilling process is completed in-house — from selecting local grains to roasting, mashing, barrelling and bottling.

Embassy’s Sip, Stay, Play package includes one night stay, breakfast for two at Cooper’s, and kits to build four tasty cocktails, including a Rosemary Gimlet, Guava Daiquiri, or the hotel’s signature Embassy Violet, which includes vodka, fresh orange and blueberry, sugar and lime.

Whether you’re toasting yourself or the ones you love, Embassy Hotel and Suites has a little something for everyone this holiday season — for work or play.
