Ottawa Life Mourns Tragedy of Three Men Killed in Arctic Coast Guard Helicopter Crash
Ottawa Life Magazine sends its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the three men who died in the Arctic Coast Guard helicopter crash on Monday, September 9. The victims are Marc Thibault, commanding officer of the research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen; Daniel Dubé, helicopter pilot; and Klaus Hochheim, an Arctic scientist affiliated with the University of Manitoba. All three men carried out research for ArcticNet, a Network of Centres of Excellence of Canada organization that brings together scientists and managers to study the impacts of climate change in the coastal Canadian Arctic. Ottawa Life has been running a series of articles in partnership with ArcticNet for the past three years and is deeply saddened by this tragedy.
