The Embassy Hotel & Suites has been a local fixture at the corner of Cooper and Cartier St. for over forty years. Over the past two years, this revered hotel underwent a $7 million dollar renovation and upgrade, ensuring it will keep its status as one of the premier hotels in Ottawa's downtown core. The "new" Embassy Hotel & Suites relaunched in January 2019, ready for a new chapter serving travelers who are in the capital for business or family visits.

The 14-storey building is conveniently located a short walk away from many notable attractions. Parliament Hill, City Hall, the National Arts Centre, and the Rideau Canal are all about a 10-minute walk away. In the summer, it is steps away from Ottawa's famous cycling and walking paths. In winter, be sure to bring skates because the Embassy Hotel is one block away from the world's largest outdoor skating rink. Guests staying here will have no shortage of close-by entertainment.
The Embassy’s in-house restaurant, Cooper’s Gastropub, provides delicious dining just steps away from the hotel suites. In July 2018, it received the same treatment as the rest of the building. Commercial kitchens and seating areas were upgraded, and the menu was improved as well.
“Cooper's Gastropub and our award-winning executive chef speak to Ottawa’s social food scene with tremendous creativity in a stylish, yet comfortable, environment,” says General Manager Morrison.
The restaurant has been headed by Executive Chef Jason Duffy for the past two years. He has won many awards for his work and is involved extensively in the culinary world—from Gatineau, to Montreal, to France, and finally, to Ottawa. Here, he continues to delight patrons, serving everything from hearty breakfasts to after-work cocktails. The restaurant is open seven days a week.
The Embassy boasts spacious condo-style suites with kitchenettes and private balconies. The sophisticated finishes give each room a classy yet comfortable atmosphere. As a result of the recent renovations, every room was completely gutted and rebuilt, and all the furniture inside was upgraded.
No matter which suite a guest decides on, their room will feature all the comforts of home—plus a stunning view of the Rideau Canal or the city of Ottawa. The suites are the most spacious in the downtown area, with the Bachelor Suites starting at 450 square feet and the Executive Suites topping at 920 square feet.
Each suite comes with a flat screen TV and cable channels, deluxe bathroom, Keurig coffee maker, work desk, and kitchenette (stovetop, microwave, and refrigerator). Depending on the suite, guests can opt for two queen beds or a king bed; some rooms come with a sleeper sofa. Guests are provided with complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and room service for contemporary comfort. The welcoming staff and the friendly atmosphere ensure that everyone has an enjoyable stay.
Whether guests stay at the hotel for one night or an extended period, they have access to hotel parking (for $18 a day) and the coin laundry for the duration of their stay. Guests are also welcome to bring their four-legged 
friends with them (a $50 cleaning fee applies). A fitness centre in the hotel means that guests can maintain a healthy lifestyle even when they are travelling. The facility is appointed with a treadmill, stationary bike, free weights, and more.
