REDBLACKS hire John McDonell as Offensive Line Coach
The Ottawa REDBLACKS have hired John McDonell as the team's new offensive line coach, the club announced on Friday.
A longtime coach at Washington State, McDonell comes to the CFL following two years as Senior Offensive Analyst with the Georgia State Panthers. In all, McDonell's coaching career has spanned 30 years with other stops including Tulane, Stanford, Notre Dame and Purdue.
"We are excited to add Coach McDonell to our coaching staff," said REDBLACKS Head Coach Rick Campbell. "He is a career football man with a wealth of football knowledge. I know he’s thrilled to be a part of RNation."
McDonell played college football at Carroll College, where he would ultimately start his coaching career in 1981. The Spokane native was inducted into the Carroll Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994.
