Rock & Rescue 2017

Photos by Emily Jefferies

Friday night Ottawa Dog Rescue and Freedom Dog Rescue hosted another Rock & Rescue event for the year.

Pet owners and supporters came to enjoy local live music, silent and live auctions that were donated by local businesses such as Tollden Farms, Stray Dog Brewing Company, and Kiss 105.3, with all proceeds from each item going towards the beneficiaries. Some Sens tickets were also in the winning mix for the evening.

Leading up to the event there was mention of a few pups set to make an appearance, but unfortunately due to the weather they couldn’t make it. Luckily there was a slideshow showcasing a bunch of these little (and big) cuties throughout the night. Ryan Lindsay from KISS FM was the evening’s host, and led the crowd through each performance and auction.

Braden Folks with Forest Creek set the crowd up with some blues/folk covers and original material, which helped turn the energy up a touch. After a brief change-up, the Awesome Brothers hit the stage for a while, before Kingston’s own Ambush finished off the night’s live entertainment.

Every attendee enjoyed themselves, knowing their accompanying donation was being put towards an altruistic cause. All proceeds go towards saving Ottawa’s strays medically and mentally, before hopefully finding a forever home.
