See Japan’s TOMOMI ADACHI in a rare Canadian concert!
Tomomi Adachi is an internationally renowned composer, vocalist, sound poet, installation artist, new media musician and theatre director. He performs improvised music with voice, live electronics and invented instruments.
Adachi is performing at Arts Court on the evening of October 1. Adachi will also give a talk on music, invention and sound poetry! As part of this presentation, we’ll see video footage from Adachi’s recent performances. The talk and video presentation (from 6:30-8:00pm) will cover Adachi’s invention of musical instruments, practice in sound poetry and site-specific compositions and also his recent projects: MAVOtek and “the People’s United Telepathic Improvisation Front.” The evening concert begins at 8:30pm: Adachi will perform his extraordinary vocal music fused to the sounds of motion-sensing electronics! Both events happen at The Library, 2nd Floor, Arts Court, 2 Daly Avenue, Ottawa.
Admission is free to both events. Contributions are welcome.
And, with this event, A B Series launches its 7th Season of autumn to spring programming! A B Series gratefully acknowledges the support of the Japan Foundation, the City of Ottawa, Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts.
