With the cooler weather setting in, our taste-buds are also craving some nutritious and warm meals. Salmon is a great, healthy and delicious remedy to satisfy these cravings. Salmon, especially wild Alaskan, has great nutritious benefits. For one, it’s an incredibly high source of protein and omega-3. More interestingly, recent studies have found that salmon contains small bioactive protein molecules (called bioactive peptides) that may provide special support for joint cartilage, insulin effectiveness, and control of inflammation in the digestive tract (read more here). Health benefits aside, salmon can also be a quick and delicious dinner solution. Here is a simple recipe for salmon and a great yogurt dill sauce to match, both of which are sure to satisfy.
Ingredients: Salmon Fillet
1/4 cup butter melted
1/4 cup fresh dill chopped
1 lemon halved
Salt and Pepper to taste
How to:
Melt butter in sauce pan and combine with dill and lemon salt and pepper.
Once your sauce is done, braise your salmon fillet with lightly with a brush. Pre-heat the oven to 400F.
Wrap salmon in tin foil and place in oven. Bake to preference (this depends on the thickness of the fillet)
Ingredients: Yogurt Dill Sauce
1/2 cup plain Balkan-style yogurt
3 garlic cloves finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh dill chopped
PC lemon herb seasoning
Salt and Pepper to taste
How to:
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl.
Add herbs to taste and let it sit for a few minutes.
