Canadian singer-songwriter Melanie Peterson is finally coming to the capital.
The musician will be performing next Friday evening at Avant Garde, a bar and music venue located on Besserer. Her show will feature a combination of past releases, covers and brand new songs.
Originally from Saskatoon, Peterson is now based in Toronto. Her sound is an original blend of folk and pop able to subtly evoke intense emotion, making her a popular feature of the local independent music scene.
Her Ottawa show is her first in the city, part of a larger tour to promote the recent July release of her latest EP. Entitled “Two”, the two-song combo produced by Mitch Girio covers the two sides of love. This latest project follows her second full-length album, “Anywhere from Here,” critically-acclaimed first album, “Unbreakable,” and well-received five song EP “After The Fall.”

Catch Melanie Peterson live at 8:30 PM on August 18th at Avant Garde, 135 1/2 Besserer Street.
