Sleep Pod Hotels Come to Ottawa for Five Days Only!

Take a power nap at a Breathe Right pod hotel in downtown Ottawa. With eight sleep pods at the corner of Sparks and Metcalfe streets, the pod hotel offers a place for tired office workers and passersby to recharge their batteries with 20-minute power naps from October 15-19. The hours of rest are from 10am to 6pm (and from 9am to 5 pm on October 17). The power naps are sponsored by Breathe Right Nasal Strips from GlaxoSmithKline.

Ontarians are massively sleep-deprived. A new Breathe Right survey reveals lack of sleep is widespread among Ontarians, with 90% reporting they enjoy fewer than eight hours of sleep per night. As a result of a poor night’s sleep, more than half (54%) of Ontarians report being less productive at work, nearly ¼ (23%) are late for work, and 11% miss work altogether. Indeed, sleep is so important that 63% of respondents are willing to miss an episode of their favorite TV show so they can nod off, 58% would just as soon avoid a night out on the town and 45% would turn down  a free meal for a snooze. Amazingly, 31% of respondents would prefer sleep over sex and 29% would opt for a good night’s sleep instead of a vacation day.

The Breathe Right pod hotel offers a private, quiet sleeping environment away from busy nearby offices. Reservations are currently being accepted on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/breatherightcanada) for 20-minute nap times.  So ready, set, sleep!
