Support Bruyère Month—take part and #BeMoved!
Bruyère is proud to announce its inaugural Bruyère Month presented by Emond Harnden, and invites you to have a look at the specialized care provided through it’s Hospital, Long-Term Care and Primary Care programs. Despite the challenges in the past year and a half, Bruyère has used the pandemic as a kickstarter for innovation and has plenty of inspiring stories to share throughout the month.
Bruyère, a multi-site academic health care organization located in Ottawa, is focused on leading a system of care that enhances the quality of life. Individuals referred to Bruyère have often suffered from a loss of independence and function, due to a significant medical event or illness. While acute care hospitals save lives, Bruyère restores independence and function, providing patients with a bridge to return home.
Bruyère’s hospitals specialize in the delivery of rehabilitation, complex medical and palliative care. As an academic health care organization, Bruyère is training the next generation of healthcare leaders, focusing largely on improving health care systems, global aging and finding new ways to care for and treat patients to help them regain their quality of life. Bruyère’s research is designed to find the most beneficial ways to treat patients to ensure their comfort and health, allowing them to enjoy life.
Over the course of September, Bruyère will be looking back at yesteryear and showcasing their rich history and bright future. The month-long event will kick off with Mayor Jim Watson proclaiming it Bruyère Month in Ottawa, and culminate with Bruyère’s Virtual Yesteryear Breakfast on September 30th. Join Bruyère this September by following @bruyerecare across social media platforms or at bemovedtogive.ca.
The month’s programming includes;
