Support the Survivors of Hurricane Dorian with WCPD’s Fundraiser, in collaboration with the Bahamas High Commission

Hurricane Dorian left dozens dead, thousands homeless and billions in damage. Known as the most intense tropical cyclone to strike the Bahamas, Hurricane Dorian was classified as a Category 5 Hurricane. This hurricane impacted the lives of many, while bringing people together to help others.

Together with The Bahamas High Commission, the Wealth Creation Preservation and Donation Inc (WCPD) is holding a much needed fundraiser in Ottawa for the victims of Hurricane Dorian in Abaco and Grand Bahama.

The event will be held on October 28, 2019 from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm at 50 Sussex, home of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

Starting at 6:30 pm, the event commences with a welcome drink, sponsored by Top Shelf Distillery. There will be a live auction and remarks from His Excellency Alvin Smith, Bahamas High Commission to Canada. Red carpet valet service will be provided by the Mark Motors Group.

The Canadian premiere of the documentary based on the award-winning book Pigs of Paradise: The Story of the World Famous Swimming Pigs of The Bahamas will be screened from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. The premiere will be followed by fresh canapes, prepared by three Ottawa chefs, Harriet Clunie from The Wandering Chef Catering, David Godsoe from Restaurant 18 and Justin Champagne Legarde from Bar Lupulus. In addition to the canapes, cocktails and refreshments will be served.

Tickets are $75 per person and are available via Eventbrite. For those who can, larger donations will receive 100 per cent charitable tax receipt. All proceeds to go towards the NEMA & Bahamas Red Cross.

As Hurricane Dorian stole many lives while leaving those left behind, without friends, family or a place to stay, help support the survivors of this devastating hurricane. With your help, families can begin to rebuild their homes, their lives. Join the High Commission of the Bahamas in Ottawa and Wealth Creation Preservation and Donation Inc in their event dedicated to those affected by the Hurricane Dorian.
