The Outerbridge’s Clockwork Mysteries will have you at the edge of your seat

Famous magical arts performing couple Ted and Marion Outerbridge will perform their world-renowned show Clockwork Mysteries this summer in Smiths Falls, a short drive from Ottawa. After years of touring around the globe, the magic masters have settled in the Ottawa Valley and are excited to be bringing their thrilling special to the National Capital Region.

Clockwork Mysteries is the most successful illusion show in Canada and is a globally acclaimed performance, winning praise from Germany to China. The duo has been hailed as “a master of illusion” (CBC-Radio Canada), “champions of magic” (Bergedorfer Zeitung, Hamburg), and a “visual feast” (Jinhua Daily, China).

The 2011 Ontario Contact award-winning show is a spectacle combining magic, theatre, and dance into one outstanding performance centred around a mysterious clock tower with other-worldly devices, including a Victorian time machine.

Within seconds of the curtain dropping, you dive into the magic. The performance is an exhilarating race against time, celebrating moment and memory.

The show brings the audience into an interactive set with riveting vanishings and unpredictable tricks that will leave you on the edge of your seat. You will feel yourself becoming part of the performance with each levitation.

Watch the Outerbridges pour floating glasses of wine, disappear into mysterious compartments, vanish in the blink of an eye, or escape from a straight jacket. The magical acts are blended with a theatrical, storied presentation that rises far above and beyond what you’d ever see in other magic shows.

This summer’s Clockwork Mysteries performances also offer a sneak peek of the Outerbridges’ upcoming show, The Keyhole House. The new story, set to premiere in 2023, is a historical narrative about relics found during their renovations to their 19th-century Smiths Falls abode, including a golf ball from 1918 that caused a sporting sensation! You will be among the first to see some of the new magic tricks that are rooted in times past — it will feel paranormal!

Ted Outerbridge says the move to Smiths Falls was made possible thanks to the new focus on magic performances in media. “Years ago, doing a theatrical show comparable to something in Las Vegas, in a town of 9,000, would not have been possible, but TV shows like America’s Got Talent have created a renaissance in the magical arts,” said Outerbridge.

You can catch the Outerbridges at the Station Theatre in Smiths Falls on Friday and Saturday from July 1st to October 31st.
