The Passage to Easter Performs this Sunday

St. Xenia of Petersburg Russian Orthodox Cathedral is putting on a miraculous Easter concert performance on Sunday March 23 at 3:00 p.m. This will be the first time that an event like this will be held in Ottawa.

The choral concert will highlight traditional Russian Orthodox liturgical music from Lent, Holy Week and Pascha. Six centuries will be uncovered through incredible arrangements by composers who created music for the sole purpose of the church, on par with Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov. These pieces, which were specifically designed to emphasize the acoustic songs of a capella choral music, will be showcased within the artistry of the hand-painted cathedral. Beautifully uncovering the spiritual Easter season message, it’s an event that will also draw music lovers. All guests are invited to the complimentary reception following the concert where refreshments and light Lenten appetizers will be offered.

Tickets are $20 and are available online: http://bit.ly/1pfhBhg. There is a limited amount of tickets available for purchase at the door. Prepare yourself by purchasing your tickets now for this spiritually enriching event.
