Three nights of comedy in the capital this weekend with the Cracked Up Comedy Festival

March 23: Got Land? Indigenous Comedy Show
Got Land? Comedy is a stand-up comedy variety show where First Nation, Inuk, and Metis entertainers tell jokes and share individual life stories. Got Land? will feature performances by Patrick Cheechoo, Janelle Niles, Lena Recollet, Sean Morriseau, David Ohokannoak, Nicole Etitiq and hosted by Don Kelly.

March 24: An Evening with Mary Walsh
Join Canadian cultural icon, comedian, and social activist, Mary Walsh as she performs some of the best comedic bits and most popular characters from Dancing With Rage, CODCO, and This Hour Has 22 Minutes, along with up-to-the-minute local political satire. In addition to reuniting with some of Walsh’s beloved characters, you can expect to enjoy some films as well as an exclusive preview of Mary’s new novel.

March 25: Comedy Night in Ottawa featuring the Candy Awards 
Some of Canada's best comedians honour outstanding Canadian comedians with The Candy Awards. The night will also feature performances by David Brennan, Big Daddy Tazz, Kyle Brownrigg, Lisa Baker, Derek Seguin, and Fiona O’Brien.

Special Exhibition: A Community at War

Black Canadians have served their country in times of war and peace, at home and overseas. They have fought for freedom abroad despite struggling against systemic racial barriers denying them equality in their own country.

Presented in partnership with the Niagara Military Museum, this panel exhibition highlights the experiences of 22 Black men and women from the Niagara region and Southwestern Ontario who served their country in uniform from the American Revolution to the present day. Their experiences offer insight into the broader experience of Black Canadians and the country’s military history.
