Unusual Drinks and Cocktails for the Holidays

The holidays are here and with that come celebrations, family parties, and a lot of drinking. For those of you looking for something different this holiday season, check out the unusual cocktails and drinks listed below.

Black Santa

A Black Santa is a drink that is sure to get you in the jovial Christmas spirit.  Take a glass half full of ice cubes and add 3/4 of an oz of Kahlua coffee liquer and then add 1/2 oz of vodka and 1/4 oz of peppermint Schnapps to make a very tasty holiday beverage.

A Slippery Slide Through a Muddy Chicken Coop

Any drink with a $20 title such as a Slippery Slide Through a Muddy Chicken Coop is certainly worth a try at least once.  Basically you mix a glass of eggnog with 1 oz of Bailey’s Irish Cream, 1 oz of Kahlua, and 1 oz of Vodka.  Mix well and give someone your keys as this drink may indeed leave you in a state similar to the drink’s name.

Whoever came up with this drink has quite the sense of humor but the drink does have an interesting kick to it.  You take a cocktail shaker, put some ice in, and then you add 1 3/4 oz of Jagermeister.  Follow that with 3 oz of Sour Strawberry Pucker and then add 1 1/4 oz of Eggnog.  Finally add 2 oz of Orange Juice for a drink that packs a punch but isn’t horrible.  The orange juice tends to counterbalance this drink.

Why Santa Has a Naughty List

For those of you that want a drink with a bit of a different flavor, try this drink known as Why Santa Has a Naughty List.  Seriously, we did not come up with the names of these drinks.  Start with a glass nearly filled with Sprite and then add 1 oz of Amaretto and then 1 oz of Gin.  Follow that with 1/2 oz of Grenadine and then 1 oz of banana liqueur.  It is very naughty but tastes oh so good.
