VR Adventures Zone Will Blow Your Mind While You Get a Great Workout
When my friend, Adventure Seeker Sarah, told me she was taking me to VR Adventures Zone, I was very sceptical, but after two hours of game time, I was singing a different tune!
The first thing that struck me about VR Adventures Zone was its focus on social entertainment. It’s not just about playing the game; it’s about creating memories with friends and family. That’s why Adventure Seeker Sarah took me, to create memories . . . and to shoot zombies but also memories.
One of my favourite games was Zombie Apocalypse. I am ANTI GUN, ANTI WAR GAMES and 100 percent ANTI ZOMBIE, but I played anyway. Armed with haptic guns, my team and I fought our way through hordes of relentless zombies. Every shot I took, and every movement I made felt incredibly real. When we successfully fended off a wave of zombies, the tension and sense of accomplishment were indescribable. At one time, I took a virtual hammer and hit a zombie over the head, laughing as I beat them.
For those who enjoy competitive gameplay, the multiplayer shooters are a must-try. Strap on your VR headset, grab your haptic gun and prepare for intense battles against other players. Whether you’re teaming up with friends or joining forces with fellow VR enthusiasts, the experience is nothing short of exhilarating.
I had fun, but that does not mean I was good; I was shot more than anyone in gameplay history!
Speaking of not good . . . one game was running a kitchen — cooking burgers, adding bacon, etc. I can assure you that no one will ever want to eat in my kitchen! I spent a lot of time spraying virtual mustard on the guests rather than feeding them, but what fun!
One of the surprising benefits of virtual reality gaming is the unexpected exercise you get while having fun. As someone not particularly fond of traditional workouts, I was pleasantly surprised by the physicality of VR experiences. The constant movement required to navigate through virtual worlds and engage with the games provided a level of exercise I hadn’t anticipated. It’s a clever way to trick yourself into getting active while thoroughly enjoying yourself.
I am very glad I went. Sure, I had to be dragged kicking and screaming, but with all Ottawa has to offer, I’ll let Adventure Seeker Sarah continue to choose adventures for me and write about the results!
