Winterlude 2020 promises endless fun for the whole family
It’s that time of year again! Everyone's fave winter festival is just around the corner and there is so much to do and see! Here are just a few of the spots you should hit up for hands-on activities, food, music, and more. Don't forget to take advantage of the complimentary Sno-Bus to travel quickly, and warmly, between the different festival destinations.
Sparks Street
Don't miss the big festival kickoff on Sparks Street on January 31st! The party goes until late night and features activities, a live DJ set, a special performance in celebration of the Métis Nation and much more. For the first time, Sparks Street will also be hosting the festival’s signature International Ice Carving Challenge, so make sure to stroll through to see some beautiful ice sculptures!
Snowflake Kingdom
If you have a young family, Snowflake Kingdom is the place you want to be. As usual, the exciting destination will be hosted at the spacious Jacques-Cartier Park across the river in Hull and features massive snow sculptures, tubing hills, zip-lining, a kiddie zone, snowboarding lessons, food vendors and much more.

ByWard Market
The ByWard Market is fun all year long, but especially during Winterlude! There will be tons of fun activities and attractions going on throughout the festival like art installations, snow sculptures, free horse-drawn wagon rides, a mini petting zoo and even guided food tours. Don't forget to grab a BeaverTail while you're out and about!
Rideau Canal Skateway
For the 37th year in a row, the canal will be the site of the annual Winterlude Triathlon! Take part in, or just watch, this exciting event of skating, running and cross-country skiing. Additionally, the canal will also feature a hockey zone and the OLG Sno-Bus station where you can warm up and enjoy some free popcorn!
