The ByWard Market is transforming into an outdoor winter wonderland for the holiday season.
Start your weekend with Fireshow Fridays, where professional circus and street performers will dazzle the crowds (6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) as they light up the night with jaw-dropping stunts and fiery displays!
On Saturday from noon until 4:00 p.m. in the Public plaza in front of 55 ByWard Market Sq., Mayor Mark Sutcliffe will proclaim December 16 – 20 as Salvation Army Week in the City Of Ottawa, bringing awareness to the final week of The Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle Campaign.
Additional Saturday activities include The Northern Stars Chorus singing Christmas Carols (noon-4:00 p.m.), an Open-Air Drag Show (2.30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. & 3.30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.) at George St Plaza, and the All My Favourite Things Artisan Market Series by Minerva Ottawa (11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.) outdoors at the tented booths along the pedestrian section of William St. and upstairs at Gallery 55 in the Market building.
Sundays bring free horse and carriage rides through the Market (2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) and the Winter Market Sundays with Solé Day Party (1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and the groovy vibes of DJs Mace, Eazy El Dee, and MessemUpBeats fill at the Winter Market Sundays with Solé Day Party at the outdoor patio in front of the Starling Restaurant, 54 York St.
