City Nature Challenge – Fri. April 25th until Mon. April 28th –
Help the City Nature Challenge (CNC) in its international effort to find and document plants and wildlife in cities around the globe. It’s a fun, easy, and family-friendly opportunity to get outside and connect with nature by documenting our local biodiversity.
During the challenge, Canadian cities take on the world and each other to see who can make the most observations of nature. All volunteer naturalists are asked to take pictures or recordings of wild animals and plants and submit them to iNaturalist.
All observations submitted to iNaturalist within that time frame are automatically added to the challenge. Participants and scientists from all over the world will contribute by adding scientific names to the recorded observations.
The CNC is an international initiative that celebrates the diversity of nature around the world, organized by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Academy of Sciences and led in Canada by the Canadian Wildlife Federation and local partners. By participating, you can learn more about nature while contributing to real science in a fun and easy fashion.
